These luminous vintage Mali Wedding Beads are little pieces of wearable history ✨
Originally handmade in Czechoslovakia for trade throughout West Africa, these iconic glass beads became especially treasured by Fulani women in Mali, where they were traditionally worn during weddings and important life celebrations. Their softly rounded teardrop shapes and rich saturated colors have made them highly collectible for generations.
We carefully cut apart an original vintage strand and sorted these beads by color family so you can select individual beads for jewelry making, collecting, or statement designs without committing to an entire strand. Every bead is wonderfully unique, with slight variations in shape, translucency, striping, wear, and finish that speak to their handmade nature and long journey through time.
These particular beads range through fiery reds, juicy oranges, golden yellows, and marbled sunset tones — absolutely stunning for bold statement jewelry, talismans, amulets, pendant necklaces, keychains, fiber art, or mixed-media projects.
Some beads are softly frosted from age, while others have beautiful marbling or striped details from the traditional glassmaking process. No two are exactly alike, which is part of their magic.
