Detail & Features

These vibrantly colored bone beads have such a nautical feel to them. The colors and unique shape remind us of a perfect combination of sand and sea. The faceted edges give them great dimension.

✨The Magic is in the Details✨

Hole Size: 2mm
Approximate Number of beads: 13
Strand Length: 8"
Color: Blue, Teal, Cream

These ethnic beads are handcrafted as a cottage industry in India, from cow bone that has been stained blue and teal, with a cream inlay in the middle. These are more intricate than most of the bone beads that we offer, due to the beautiful laminated technique.

These have a nice slightly-larger hole on them (approximately 2mm), so they would work on smaller cord or twine.

Curious to know about the source of the bone?

In India and Nepal, not much is wasted. So instead of just eating the meat of an animal, every part of the animal is used: bones for things like beads, hides/hair for clothing and accessories and talismans, and the meat is consumed.

The making of these beads and pendants provides a livelihood for families in remote villages in Nepal and India, which we are honored to support and share with you.
