These are beautiful quality hand-carved, stained yak-bone mala counters from Kathmandu, Nepal. Complete with red cotton tassel, a Dorje on one counter, and a Bell on the other. Traditionally strung on the sides of a mala, as a tool to count the number of times one has gone around the mala, reciting a mantra.

The Buddhist Dorje symbol that is on one counter, symbolizes compassion. The bell on the other counter symbolizes the wisdom that realizes the emptiness. Both are needed to attain enlightenment.
You will receive 2 counters. Each one measures 4.5". Each counter has 9 counter beads.
The counter beads ares strung on a burgundy red looped cord, that you can loop and tie onto things. The tassels at the bottom are a matching burgundy red.
