Detail & Features
These antique blue glass beads are truly old and hard to come by. Dating back as far as the early 1800's, they were made in Hebron and have travelled far. They have such a great shape and a large hole, which makes them great for stringing on leather or other cords.
The beads vary in size, ranging from about 13x10mm to 22x16mm, with about a 6mm hole.Β Β
These beads are strung in a loop on a rafia, the way they are traditionally strung in Africa. You get about 23" of beads, with another 4" of raffia at the top. The total strand is approximately 27" long, with about 45 beads.
These beads are blue with some shades of green/brown mixed in. These beads are old. They do show some chips on some of the edges, and some of the corners are worn down, but this is part of their beauty, and attests to their age.
African beads have such mystery attached to them; they have been worn for decades, travelled continents, and will be around for hundreds of years into the future. Be a part of the mystery and let these beads grace you with their presence.
