Detail & Features
These fabulous beads hail from Mali, West Africa. They are commonly known as "vinyl record beads," though they are made from vulcanite, which is a compressed rubber product that was commonly used in the Victorian period to make jewelry. Women in Mali wear these beads as waist beads or belly bracelets.
These unusual strands are larger than the ones we normally come across, and we love the boldness of them!
