These antique beads are beautifully aged; found in Djenne in Mali, Africa, they are called by this name. Also known as Nila Beads and Roman Glass Beads, these beads were traded into Africa from Italy. These are an alluring shade of aqua blue, with hints of robin's egg, pale blue, and white. It is obvious that these beads have been previously worn, buried to keep safe, and travelled far.
