One glance at these beads and you'll be sailing away to Caribbean seas. These African glass white heart beads are a delicious shade of sea blue.
They are called "White Hearts" because they are made of two layers of glass; they have a "white heart" underneath an aqua blue outer layer.

White Heart beads have been made in the Czech Republic (Bohemia) for hundreds of years. Like many Czech beads, White Hearts (Cornaline D'Aleppo's) were traded into Africa and became an important part of the African bead trade.
