Detail & Features
Have you ever walked into a room, and overheard other people asking, "who smells so good?" This will be your experience with these natural Ittars, or essential oils, from the heart of Old Delhi.
I hand-carry these vials back with me from India, from a shop that has been dealing in pure essences for over 200 years; the shop was built in 1816, and has been run by the same family since this time, now in it's 7th generation. They are known all over India for their distilling craftsmanship.
My husband remembers going there with his Grandpa when he was a young child, and the smell of these Ittars always brings back strong childhood memories for him. Being a scent-lover myself, these oils have become my signature scent, and when you smell them, you too will realize how magical and transporting they are.

Lavender hails from the flowering tops of the Lavendula Angustifolia plant, and the oil is produced via steam distillation. This floral fragrance is sweet, herbal and a classic aroma. Lavender is often used in aromatherapy to soothe the nerves and treat headaches, stress and insomnia.
Mitti (Monsoon) captures the essence of the fresh rain after the first Monsoon, as it enters the dry, baked earth. The art of capturing this intoxicating scent has been perfected in India over hundreds of years. A beautifully rich, deep, and mysterious smell, this one is a personal favorite.
Ood (also spelled Oud, or Oudh) comes from the Southeast Asian agar (aquilaria) tree. On the rare occasion that this tree becomes infected with a particular kind of mold, it produces a resin known as "liquid gold." Both the resin and the wood holding the resin are referred to as "liquid gold." Supposedly fewer than 2% of wild agar trees produce this resin. The scent is often described as warm sweetness mixed with woody and balsamic notes. It's an aromatic and complex fragrance.
Patchouli comes from a plant in the same family as lavender & mint. It was traditionally used to treat skin & hair problems. This warm, spicy & musky scent has a grounding and calming effect on the nerves, making it ideal for aromatherapeutic or cosmetic use.
Ruh Khus (Wild Vetiver) is earthy and green, grounding and refreshing. In India, Ruh Khus is popular as a summer scent, as it is pristine and light. It is very versatile as a perfume and is often combined with richer, deeper scents such as Ood or Sandalwood.
