Our Antique Electric Green Uranium Glass Trade Beads have the most incredible saturated green color, and that's before you even turn on the black light.
These old glass beads were originally made in Europe and traded into Africa, where colorful European glass beads became an important part of the historic bead trade. This collection was sourced in Ethiopia and has been tucked away in our WSW bead stash for years, making this a particularly fun treasure to finally bring back out into the world.
Each bead has a softly faceted, slightly irregular shape with a beautiful frosted surface from years of age and wear. You'll find tiny pits, scratches, variations in shape and color, and other signs of their history. That's exactly what we love about old trade beads: every single one has its own personality.
And then there's the glow. ⚡
Under UV black light, these already-vivid green beads fluoresce an absolutely brilliant neon green. This is a characteristic associated with uranium glass. The transformation is wild, and we've included a black-light photo so you can see just how dramatically they light up.
