The craftsmanship on these beaded apron is most incredible. This beauty, in the smaller size, comes from the Fulani tribe in Cameroon. Among the Tuareg, historically, women wore these beaded belts, known as Cache Sexe, to cover themselves.
The Tuareg are known for their craftsmanship, both in beads and leather. This is just one of many examples of beautifully intricate and colorful adornments that are common among these nomadic peoples.
These beaded beauties make incredible wall hangings and are fabulous tied over a lampshade. They're also perfect for adding a beaded fringe to sewing and fashion products.
This beaded portion of this piece measures approximately 8.5" x 5". The fringe measures another 4" long, and the ties on the side are each about 9" long.
