The bold and vibrant shade of green on these African White Heart glass beads is so refreshing. So easy on the eyes, aren't they?
They are called "White Hearts" because they are made of two layers of glass; they have a "white heart" underneath an aqua blue outer layer.

White Heart beads have been made in the Czech Republic (Bohemia) for hundreds of years. Like many Czech beads, White Hearts (Cornaline D'Aleppo's) were traded into Africa and became an important part of the African bead trade.
