Heading to Magical New Heights with Ultra Violet, Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year

No secrets here: we are ultra excited about Ultra Violet being the Pantone color of the year in 2018.  We're diehard purple fans at WomanShopsWorld. True story: my hair stylist says purple is my "natural color."😂👩🏼‍🎤  So you can expect an ultra-fabulous assortment of purple tassels and other crafty goods to make an appearance here at Tassel HQ this year.

Not only are we excited about the magical shade, but we are encouraged by what it stands for.  The Pantone color of the year is so much more than just a color.  "Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own," says Pantone of the contemplative color. 

The color purple has come to be associated with the cosmos, spiritual reflection, magic, and forward thinking.  And of course purple is the color of the Crown Chakra, which helps us align with the Universe. 

From a more earthly perspective, Camila Domonoski of NPR's The Two Way  suggests that, "In our current political climate, where red is linked with Republicans and blue with Democrats, purple is periodically identified as a symbol of bipartisanship — or, in the case of swing states, as a signifier of uncertain affiliation." Maybe we have a meeting of the minds to look forward to this year, influenced by the prevalence of this complex color.
