Are they blue or are they purple? We can't really decide, so we'll call them "Galaxy.". These heishi bone disc beads are a great match with almost any other color, and a perfect size for making jewelry. Made in India, from cow bone (cruelty-free) these little cuties are perfect for bracelets and spacer beads.
The rich shade of purple/blue is mottled, so there are white-ish specks in the coloring. This gives the beads a great visual texture.
These beads measure 9mm and have a nice slightly-larger hole on them (approximately 2mm), so they would work on smaller cord or twine.

Curious to know about the source of the bone?
In India and Nepal, not much is wasted. So instead of just eating the meat of an animal, every part of the animal is used: bones for things like beads, hides/hair for clothing and accessories and talismans, and the meat is consumed.
The making of these beads and pendants provides a livelihood for families in remote villages in Nepal and India, which we are honored to support and share with you.
