Elephant in Bone: Silver & Brass Bezel Set, 2.75" Carved Focal PendantWoman Shops World
There's something so perfectly majestic about the elephant. Carved out of bone, this elephant head has great details and such a peaceful expression on his face.
The bone is bezel-set in an ornate Nepali silver & brass bezel. There are swirling leaf-like motif designs on the back (each pendant might have slightly different details, as you can see in the photos). These would be beautiful strung in natural, yoga, bohemian, or western-inspired jewelry.
This listing is for 1 pendant. Pendant measures arounds 2.5" from top to bottom, and the bail adds an extra .5", so it'll hang around 3" long on a necklace. It is about 1.5" wide. The bail opening is around 11mm, large enough for a leather or other type of cord.
Curious to know about the source of the bone?
In India and Nepal, not much is wasted. So instead of just eating the meat of an animal, every part of the animal is used: bones for things like beads, hides/hair for clothing and accessories and talismans, and the meat is consumed.
The making of these beads and pendants provides a livelihood for families in remote villages in Nepal and India, which we are honored to support and share with you.
