Detail & Features

Vintage colors just have a different feel to them, don't they?
I first stumbled upon these glass beads in the Mustard Yellow color, and I knew they were something special. Recently I've been able to acquire more colors, and these are no less special.

The colors are so unusual, so perfectly vintage. These beads are old French beads, traded into Africa. They are a lovely rondelle shape that is perfect for making jewelry. They are obviously handmade, as the shape does vary slightly from bead to bead, as you can see in the photos. They have been tumbled and cleaned, so they don't show the dirt that many old beads show.

Approx. Bead Size: 2.5-3mm
Approx. Hole Size: .5mm
Approx. Number of beads: 350
Strand Length: Approx. 24"
Color: Choose from  Baby Pink, Sangria, True Red, Goldenrod, Mustard, Cloud Blue, Cornflower Mix, Heather, Lavender, Iris.
Or choose one of each strand for a discounted rate.

Strands are strung in a loop on cotton thread, some strands have raffia twisted around the back. These can be worn as-is, and will slip over your head. But please keep in mind that the cotton thread is thin, so take care to not stretch it or pull on it.

These beads are old; they date back as early as the early 1900's and originated from Europe. They do show some dirt and minor chips on some of the edges, but this is part of their beauty, and attests to their age. African beads have such mystery attached to them; they have been worn for decades, travelled continents, and will be around for hundreds of years into the future. Be a part of the mystery and let these beads grace you with their presence.

A portion of all WSW sales will be donated to The Compassion Collective, which works to feed, clothe, shelter, and save our refugee and homeless sisters, brothers, and children in the US and worldwide.
